Free Admission for Teachers During MEA Weekend

Hoċokata Ṫi is once again opening its doors to educators and teachers during the 2023 Minnesota Education Association break. From October 19-21, teachers will receive free admission to the Mdewakanton: Dwellers of the Spirit Lake public exhibit.

Visitors can learn the story of the tribe through the exhibit’s audio and visual interactive elements that depict the history of the Mdewakanton Dakota people, from their existence before European settlers to making treaties with the U.S government, as well as the journey to self-sufficiency.

To claim a free ticket, go to Plan Your Visit > Tickets and enter promotion code MEA23 at checkout. Teachers must present school ID upon arrival to receive free admission.

Great news! Hoċokata Ṫi recently expanded its hours of operation to 9am-4:30pm, Wednesday through Saturday, giving visitors more convenient times to visit the public exhibit and gift shop. We hope to see you during MEA weekend!
