Fashion Designers Return to the Hoċokata Ṫi Runway on November 21

Get ready for an unforgettable evening of fashion, art, and culture as the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community hosts the second annual Hoċokata Ṫi Fashion Show on November 21.

Held in honor of Native American Heritage Month, this year’s event is themed “Ṫate: The Wind Guides Us,” celebrating the movement, spirit, and creativity of Indigenous people from across the country.

The evening will feature powerful designs by:
• S’aic’iya Design by James Star Comes Out (Oglala Lakota)
• Rebekah Jarvey (Chippewa, Cree, and Blackfeet)
• RRR.Raid by Joanne Miles-Long (San Carlos Apache and Akimel O’Otham)
• Leah Thomas (Prairie Island Indian Community)
• 4Kinship by Amy Denet Deal (Diné)
• Wacipi Wishes by Jessica Haines

The event begins at 5pm with a welcome reception, featuring appetizers prepared by Native Harvest Catering. The show will begin at 6:30pm with a special musical performance by Dakota singer-songwriter Akicita.

Attendees can also shop for handmade jewelry, clothing, beadwork, and other Native-made goods from local vendors before and after the show.

Proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit Native American Community Clinic, Minnesota Indian Women’s Research Center, Minneapolis American Indian Center, and Ain Dah Yung Center.
