Hoċokata Ti’s public exhibit, Mdewakanton: Dwellers of the Spirit Lake, will be closed for renovation and maintenance starting December 1, 2021, with a re-opening date in early February.

The gift shop will remain open during this time.

Jingle Dress History

Featuring rows and rows of small metal cones, the jingle dress and jingle dance support healing in Dakota culture. Originating from the Anishinaabeg (Ojibwe), jingle dresses are used to help heal the sick and can be seen in ceremonial dances.
