Update: CommUNITY Day 2021 canceled

The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s CommUNITY Day, which was planned for Saturday, November 13. We believe canceling this event is the best way to ensure the safety and well-being of our tribe and broader community in light of recent events.

The goal of CommUNITY Day – to share information about our tribe and our culture with our neighbors – remains a worthy goal, and we hope to be able to reschedule the event in the near future.

Thank you for your interest in this event and our tribe’s history and culture. We encourage you to continuing learning about Native American issues by visiting our public exhibit and following our campaign, Understand Native Minnesota, on Twitter and Instagram.
