Visit Hoċokata Ṫi During SMSC Wacipi Weekend
If you’re planning to attend the 2026 Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community Wacipi, taking place August 14-16, be sure to add Hoċokata Ṫi to your weekend itinerary.
We will be open during our regular hours on Friday, August 14, and Saturday, August 15, from 9am-4:30pm, with last admission to the exhibit at 3:30pm. Please note that we are closed on Sundays.
Visitors can explore the Mdewakanton: Dwellers of the Spirit Lake public exhibit to learn more about Dakota history, culture, and traditions during your visit. And don’t forget to check out the gift shop, which features a variety of Native-made art, books, jewelry, beaded and quilled items, craft supplies, health, beauty, and home goods.
Members of federally recognized tribes receive free entry to the exhibit August 14 and 15 (must show Tribal ID). All other exhibit tickets are just $5.
